No, you're not the only one who does not like AL Getaway...

Or Charlie Sheen, apparently. Which begs for a new version:

Thirty two bizarre quotes a minute
America cryin for more
Before he becomes a Fox pundit
I hope he's got the sense to tweet some more

Seems like the rock star from Mars
got tiger blood enough to hang himself
Ain't no call to worry the jury
His kind takes care of itself

Charlie Sheen getaway
Charlie Sheen getaway
Only way to please him
Turn around and give him
a talk show

Not fair at all -- he seems manic-phase bipolar as well as coked up -- but yet, so easy. And while it's not very good, it does improve the song.

Anyway,

To answer your original question; Alabama Getaway is a clever-crafted tale and if Jerry is on and hot-to-trot on any given evening, particularly if he chooses to open the set with this lil number, there's good room in there for him to stretch out and work his magic on some runs/scales and that had a tendency to get the other five cylinders up and moving in synchronization.

As far as the big Walrus Belushi is concerned, i believe the party time line you're looking for in the weeks up to his tragic passing on March 5th, 1982 began on the set of Saturday Night Live October 11th, 1975 and ran seven long years!
